Revenge Porn

A relatively new criminal law on the books in Louisiana is what is known as “Revenge Porn” this crime often takes place after a couple breaks up. Imagine the situation where a happy couple decides to play around with their smart phones and, with permission take naked pictures or videos. As long as both people are consenting adults, no laws have been broken. But suppose the couple has a nasty breakup and one of the people decide to post those pictures on the internet, without the permission of the other person. This is known as “Revenge Porn,” and it is a felony that could result in a prison sentence.
