A Small Sample of Criminal Cases Handled 

State of Louisiana vs S.J. - Lafayette Parish - Defendant was charged with two (2) separate counts of felony 3rd offense OWI. I was able to work out a plea bargain for one (1) count of misdemeanor 1st offense OWI, no jail time, and all other charges dismissed. 

State of Louisiana vs T.C. - Lafayette Parish - Defendant was charged with attempted second-degree murder as a result of shooting a man during a street deal. I was able to work out a plea to simple possession of marijuana with no jail time. 

 

State of Louisiana vs P.F. - Terrebonne Parish - Defendant was charged with felony possession of narcotics and monetary instrument abuse (counterfeit money). I was able to get all charges dismissed. 

City of Lafayette vs R.G. – Defendant was charged with an OWI as a result of swerving and crossing over the center line while driving. I was able to convince the court that the police did not have probable cause for the stop and all charges were dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs J.D. – Lafayette Parish- Defendant’s car was found wrecked in a ditch a short distance from his house. Police ran the registration on the vehicle and using that information went to the defendant’s house and arrested him for OWI. I was able to get all of the charges dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs T.C. – Lafayette Parish – Defendant was charged with second-degree murder as a result of killing a man during a shootout. Second-degree murder carries an automatic sentence of life imprisonment. After a week-long trial, I was able to convince the jury to return a verdict of negligent homicide, which carries a maximum sentence of only five years.

City of Lafayette vs J.S. – Defendant was arrested for domestic abuse battery and pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace.

State of Louisiana vs C.C.- Vermilion Parish- Defendant was caught on two separate occasions with multiple different types of drugs in his vehicle. I was able to work out a plea bargain where the defendant received probation for all charges.

State of Louisiana vs C.V. – Lafayette Parish- Defendant was charged with felony second-degree battery as a result of a fight in which the alleged victim had to have an operation and incurred over $10,000 in medical bills. I was able to convince the jury that my client was acting in self-defense and the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.

State of Louisiana vs V.G. – Rapides Parish- Defendant was caught trying to sell several pounds of marijuana to an undercover state trooper. I was able to get the defendant probation. 

State of Louisiana vs J.F. – Lafayette Parish- Defendant was charged with possession of schedule III, schedule IV, and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. I was able to get the defendant probation.

City of Lafayette vs D.Y.- Defendant was arrested for OWI with a breath test reading of .40, which is five times the legal limit. I was able to get the defendant probation.

State of Louisiana vs T.M. – Lafayette Parish- Defendant was arrested for possession of schedule II with monies derived. I was able to plead the defendant to probation and obtain the return of over $13,000, which had been seized.  

State of Louisiana vs C.C. – Lafayette Parish – Defendant was charged with felony cruelty to animals for shooting and killing his neighbor’s pit bull dog. I was able to show that the defendant acted in self-defense and the charges were dismissed.

City of Lafayette vs A.V. – Defendant was charged with OWI second offense and I was able to get the charges dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs A.P. – Sabine Parish- Defendant was charged with felon in possession of a firearm. I was able to get the charges dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs B.S. – Vermilion Parish- defendant was charged with felony second-degree battery. I was able to convince the District Attorney to drop the charges.

City of Lafayette vs C.D. – Defendant was charged with OWI, for driving while under the influence of marijuana. I was able to convince the Judge to find the defendant not guilty.

State of Louisiana vs C.T. – Lafayette Parish- Defendant was charged with online solicitation of a minor. I was able to get the defendant probation.

State of Louisiana vs E.N. – Vermilion Parish- Defendant was charged with felony OWI sixth offense. I was able to plead him to a first offense OWI with credit for six months' time served.

State of Louisiana vs J.S. – Iberia Parish- Defendant was charged with cruelty to a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The victim stated that she was thrown from a car after not consenting to have relations with the defendant. I was able to prove the victim was not telling the truth and ultimately get the charges dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs T.C. – Lafayette Parish – Defendant was stopped on a traffic charge and the police officer asked the defendant “Do you have any guns or drugs in your car?” The defendant admitted to having half a pound of cocaine and two pounds of marijuana in his trunk. At a hearing on a Motion to Suppress, I was able to have all of the charges dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs L.G. – Saint Martin Parish- Defendant was charged with four various felony charges involving corruption. I was able to show that defendant was not guilty and all charges were dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs L.R. – East Baton Rouge Parish – Defendant was charged with burglary of copper wire. I was able to show that the crime was committed by a different person and had the charges dismissed against my client.

State of Louisiana M.B. – East Baton Rouge Parish- Defendant was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile, I was able to work out a plea to probation.

City of Lafayette vs M.M. – OWI was reduced to reckless operation.

State of Louisiana vs T.M.- felony possession of heroin reduced to misdemeanor drug paraphernalia.   

State of Louisiana vs E.P. – defendant was charged with possession of marijuana. Charges were dismissed upon the defendant joining the Job Core.

State of Louisianan vs A.P.- defendant was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, Adderall, Buprenorphine, Clonazepam, Xanax, and possession of marijuana, charges were ultimately dismissed.  

State of Louisiana vs B.L. – defendant was charged with unauthorized use of an access card in excess of $500 and theft of an aged person. The first charge was reduced to misdemeanor theft of less than $750 and the second charge was dismissed.

State of Louisiana vs C.M.- defendant was arrested for felony theft and charges were ultimately dismissed upon completion of the Pre-Trial Diversion Program.

State of Louisiana vs F.P.- defendant was arrested for simple battery and simple criminal damage to property, and all charges were dismissed.
